U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow announced Wednesday that she will be introducing legislation to prohibit Congressional lawmakers from engaging in insider trading. The Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act legislation redefines insider trading to include knowledge gained from Congressional work and service, creates transparency rules and reporting requirements, and requires “political intelligence consultants” to register as lobbyists. ZEELAND, Mich. (WZZM) -- U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow visited the Lakeshore for the third time in about six months Monday. Stabenow visited the facilities at Zeeland Farm Services, a manufacturer of grain and soy products. She unveiled a new initiative called 'Grow It Here, Make It Here,' promoting alternatives like soy over oil, as a base for product materials like plastics. MORE >>>

FLINT (WJRT)  - The American Competitiveness Plan is aimed at cracking down on countries involved in trade violations. The plan could also bring more jobs to Michigan. The first part of Senator Debbie Stabenow's bipartisan plan overcame a a major hurdle last week in the Senate.   She says the legislation is designed to go after countries like China that are not playing fair when it comes to trade.
