Campaign Weekly Update - 36 Days till Election
Here's the latest news and updates from the Stabenow for U.S. Senate campaign.
| Launching A New Television Ad: Today we unveiled the fifth television ad of our campaign, entitled "Honor." In the ad, Jim Salisbury, a Michigan veteran, discusses Senator Stabenow's successful effort to stop the Bush administration's efforts doubling the prescription drug costs for over 40,000 Michigan veterans. The Bush administration's proposed budget for 2005-2007 included a measure that doubled the prescription drug co-pay for section 7 and section 8 veterans. Senator Stabenow fought to have this proposal stripped from the budget, ensuring that Michigan's veterans would not be unfairly burdened with increased prescription drug costs. View the new TV ad. |

VFW PAC Endorsement: Today Senator Stabenow received the endorsement of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Political Action Committee. This endorsement is a testament to Senator Stabenow's work on behalf of veterans in Michigan and throughout America. The VFW-PAC is the nation's only major Veterans Service Organization PAC. The VFW-PAC was organized in 1979, and provides the 2.4 million members of the VFW with an opportunity to support candidates who support our nation's veterans and America's security.
Act Today - 3 Days Until Deadline
From Nell, our Finance Director -
We have less than three days left to raise $75,000 online before our fundraising deadline. We are $10,504 from our goal. Please take three minutes and contribute $35, $50, $100 or more if you can afford it-and please, do it today.
Bush and Cheney made personal visits to Michigan in the last few weeks to raise money for our Republican opponent. Their visits signal how serious the Republicans are about unseating Senator Stabenow. The Republican Party is bringing out their top fundraising draws to fill Mike Bouchard's campaign coffers.
Help us ensure that we send Debbie Stabenow back to the Senate. We can't do it without your help. Click here to donate.
Sincerely,
Nell Dority
Finance Director

Fighting The Bush/Cheney Machine
From Nell, our Finance Director -
It's only 42 days until the November elections and 5 days until our next filing deadline on September 30th. We know the Bush Administration will do everything they can to try and keep the Senate under Republican control.
That's why he flew into Michigan to raise money for Senator Stabenow's opponent. And just yesterday, the Vice President, Dick Cheney, flew in to raise more. Karl Rove, Ken Mehlman and Sen. Elizabeth Dole have dropped by to raise money. National Republican groups like the Club for Growth are vowing to spend money.
Right-wing activists want this seat, and are willing to spend millions trying to get it.
Campaign Weekly Update - 43 Days till Election
Here's the latest news and updates from the Stabenow for U.S. Senate campaign this past week.
Turn On The Light!: We're 43 days from the election on November 7th. In the last month, it seems the entire Bush administration, from President Bush, Karl Rove to Ken Mehlman, have dropped by to raise more money for our opponent. Tomorrow Vice President Dick Cheney takes his turn. National Republican groups like the Club for Growth are vowing to spend money here as well. To combat their partisan attack machine, we're going to need serious funding to respond on television. Saturday is also an important filing deadline for the campaign, and we need to raise $75,000 online. So, please donate today.
Register to Vote: The deadline to register to vote for this election is October 10th. Are you registered? Check with the Secretary of State online, you can do a lookup by name or drivers license number. This website will also tell you your polling place location. Please take a minute today to make sure there are no problems with your registration! If you're not listed on their site, stop by a Secretary of State branch office or your local city or township clerk's office to register or re-register. Also you can download a mail-in registration form here. Read more about voting in Michigan.
Write A Letter To The Editor
Letters to the Editor in your local newspaper help the campaign by spreading the word about Debbie Stabenow's record and accomplishments. They can persuade and inform undecided voters, and are key to a victory in November. Last month we introduced a brand new tool on our website, the Letter to the Editor tool. You can use it to search by zip code to find out the papers nearest you, and submit your letter to them electronically. Try out our Letters to the Editor Tool.
If you'd like to be a part of our new Rapid Response team and send regular letters or call in to radio talk shows, please email Matt Williams or call 517-336-8500.
Help Us Fight The Bush Machine
From Senator Stabenow -
We're less than 50 days from the election on November 7th. And in the last month, Republicans have really brought out their big guns for my opponent.
President Bush flew into Michigan to raise money against me. Karl Rove and Ken Mehlman dropped by to raise more money. National Republican groups like the Club for Growth are vowing to spend money here as well.
You know what all of that means... The negative attack ads are coming soon.
To combat President Bush's fundraising and his partisan attack machine, we're going to need serious funding to respond on television.
