Senator Barack Obama came to Michigan recently to campaign for Senator Stabenow, and recorded a special video message for our friends and supporters like you. Click here to view the video.

Now, President Bush is coming in this week for our opponent. And he has a message for you as well...

  • Mike Bouchard supports my economic policies that are costing Michigan jobs.
  • Mike Bouchard supports "staying the course" with me in Iraq, rather than taking a new direction.
  • Mike Bouchard is all about protecting record profits for the drug companies, the oil companies and the insurance companies... just like me.

Debates

Check out the debates! Senator Stabenow did an amazing job. After two debates there is even more evidence that Michigan has a clear choice in this election: between a Senator who gets the job done and someone who is good at dodging questions, but bad at giving straight answers.

Take a look at these UNEDITED replays of the two debates. Thanks for watching them, and make sure to remind all your friends that Election Day is less than three weeks away. Remember, on Election Day and in the Senate, there is no 'maybe' button. We can't do this without you!

Senator Stabenow Wins 2nd Debate!

Submitted by laura on October 18, 2006 - 4:56pm.

In the second televised debate between Senator Stabenow and Mike Bouchard, Debbie Stabenow again scored a decisive victory as Bouchard floundered, failing to even muster a yes or no answer on how he would have voted on the war in Iraq.

"It was apparent again today that there is a clear choice in this election between the concrete results that I've delivered for Michigan and someone who supports the failed Bush policies that have cost us jobs and put our Michigan way of life at risk," said Stabenow. "There's no maybe button in the United States Senate, and when it comes to getting things done for Michigan we need decisive leadership."

Listen to the debate tonight on WJR at 7pm, or watch it on Detroit Public Television on Sunday October 29th.

Help Us To Victory in 3 Weeks

Thanks to your overwhelming support, we've been able to respond to our opponent's vicious and false ads put on the air last week. Read more about that attack ad here.

Thanks to you, we are closer to our goal of raising $100,000 online for our final weeks of TV. But we aren't there yet. Senator Stabenow's opponent will continue his nasty tactics in the final 21 days of this campaign. The more desperate he gets, the more false and misleading his ads will get.

Debbie understands that what's important in this election is jobs. She stands up every day against the tired and failed policies of the Bush administration that have hurt Michigan and our country. She delivers real results on the issues that matter.

Campaign Weekly Update - 22 Days till Election

Submitted by laura on October 16, 2006 - 10:47am.

Here's the latest news and updates from the Stabenow for U.S. Senate campaign.

Debates: Our first debate was aired last night on PBS. Senator Stabenow really came through in this debate. It was clear from the beginning that creating and keeping good-paying Michigan jobs is her number one priority. A priority seemingly not shared by Mr. Bouchard. She drove home positive points about her record of getting tough on countries that cheat our trade laws, stopping Canadian Trash, lowering the cost of health care and many other important issues. She also pulled no punches in highlighting where the two of them differ in their priorities, particularly on the economy.

Listen to it now.

The second hour-long Senate debate will be held on Wednesday, October 18, at the Detroit Economic Club. It will be broadcast on Detroit Public Television on Sunday, October 29th, at 12:30pm.

Endorsements: Last week we welcomed the news of Senator Stabenow's endorsement by the Bay City Times and the Observer & Eccentric Newspapers. Yesterday we were endorsed by the Lansing State Journal. Today the Detroit Regional Chamber is announcing their endorsement as well. More to follow!

Help Keep Us On The Air

From Nell, our Finance Director -

This week, the campaign began running our newest ad, "Results", which talks about how Senator Stabenow stepped up and got something done about the flow of Canadian trash across our borders. As opposed to her opponent, Mike Bouchard, who's consistently worked to keep the trash flowing into Michigan.

At the same time, National Republicans continue to fund nasty personal attacks on the air against Senator Stabenow. They can attack the Senator all they like. But, in November, we're confident that people will choose her record of fighting for our Michigan Way of Life over these nasty attacks.
