Here's the latest news and updates from the Stabenow for U.S. Senate campaign.

Launching A New Television Ad: Today we unveiled the fifth television ad of our campaign, entitled "Honor." In the ad, Jim Salisbury, a Michigan veteran, discusses Senator Stabenow's successful effort to stop the Bush administration's efforts doubling the prescription drug costs for over 40,000 Michigan veterans. The Bush administration's proposed budget for 2005-2007 included a measure that doubled the prescription drug co-pay for section 7 and section 8 veterans. Senator Stabenow fought to have this proposal stripped from the budget, ensuring that Michigan's veterans would not be unfairly burdened with increased prescription drug costs.

VFW PAC Endorsement: Today Senator Stabenow received the endorsement of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Political Action Committee. This endorsement is a testament to Senator Stabenow's work on behalf of veterans in Michigan and throughout America. The VFW-PAC is the nation's only major Veterans Service Organization PAC. The VFW-PAC was organized in 1979, and provides the 2.4 million members of the VFW with an opportunity to support candidates who support our nation's veterans and America's security.

Around Michigan: Last week Senator Stabenow attended the Muskegon County AFL-CIO GOTV event and encouraged the hardy canvassers. She then met with Muskegon area church leaders. She also stopped by the Kent County Democratic Party Annual Dogs & Suds event, the Kent County Education Association's Fall Legislative Reception, and attended church services in Grand Rapids on Sunday.

RV Update: The Working Families Express began last week by joining the Tri-County ARA at Local 467 in Saginaw for a political rally. On Tuesday, we celebrated Shiawassee County's grand office opening with local Democratic candidates and enthusiastic supporters. The Mobile Office then traveled to Oakland County for door-to-door canvasses in Royal Oak, Ferndale, and Troy, where we teamed up with Congressional Candidate Nancy Skinner and The Troy Democratic Club. Over the weekend, we traveled to Berrien County, where we participated in the Apple Fest parade as well as a door-to-door canvass with their dedicated Democrats. We then made our way to Dexter to join the Washtenaw County Democrats for their Barn Bash celebration. Keep checking your e-mail so you can join us when the mobile office is in your area!

Attack Ad On TV: Last week Mike Bouchard began airing a TV attack ad against Senator Debbie Stabenow. Bouchard is using personal attacks and distortions about Debbie's record on issues like taxes and immigration in a desperate attempt to score political points. Senator Stabenow is fighting hard for Michigan families and delivering real results every day, standing up to the Bush policies that have cost us jobs and threaten our Michigan way of life. Mike Bouchard has put the desperation of his campaign on display for all of Michigan to see. Sadly, Mike Bouchard just doesn't seem to get it. For more information on Senator Stabenow's record of results for Michigan please visit our website.

Madeleine Albright: We have an exciting fundraising event coming up this Wednesday, October 4th with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. Host and General Tickets are available. For more information, email Kristen Caswell or call 517-336-8500 today.
