I want to update you on some big news.
After twice killing our common-sense plan to stop student loan interest rates from doubling, my Republican colleagues have stepped back from the edge and decided to do what's right.
Last Friday, we passed legislation to stop student loan interest rates from doubling.
And here's the truth: none of this would have been possible without you.
You stepped up and drove this issue forward by signing our petition, sending emails, and talking to your friends. You sent a
clear message to Capitol Hill, and finally, the Republicans backed down.
