On Wednesday July 5th Senator Stabenow visited Michigan Ethanol in Caro, one of five ethanol plants that will be up and running in Michigan by the end of the year. While there, she challenged the oil industry and service station owners to pledge that one in four Michigan gas stations would provide alternative fuels by 2008.
"Michigan is a leader in producing home-grown fuels like ethanol, and our auto industry is making FlexFuel vehicle production a priority," said Stabenow. "Now we need to build on that leadership and add more alternative fuel pumps to Michigan service stations, so consumers feel confident they can find the pumps."
