Senator Stabenow Wins 2nd Debate!
In the second televised debate between Senator Stabenow and Mike Bouchard, Debbie Stabenow again scored a decisive victory as Bouchard floundered, failing to even muster a yes or no answer on how he would have voted on the war in Iraq.
"It was apparent again today that there is a clear choice in this election between the concrete results that I've delivered for Michigan and someone who supports the failed Bush policies that have cost us jobs and put our Michigan way of life at risk," said Stabenow. "There's no maybe button in the United States Senate, and when it comes to getting things done for Michigan we need decisive leadership."

Senator Stabenow Wins Debate!
Sunday night's debate provided more of the same from Mike Bouchard, who launched countless misleading attacks on Senator Stabenow and her record of results for Michigan. Mike Bouchard didn't mention one idea he had or policy he supported for creating and keeping jobs in Michigan, but tried time and again to misrepresent Debbie Stabenow's record in his hapless attempt to score political points. For the truth on Mike's empty charges and the facts on Debbie Stabenow's record please check out Just The Facts, Mike.
Note: PBS to re-broadcast debate, 7pm Sunday October 22nd!

While in Michigan Friday for a political fundraiser, President Bush placed a call to Bill Ford, the former CEO of Ford Motor Company. President Bush refused to find time during his short stay in Michigan to sit down with the CEO's of the Big Three auto makers after previously canceling or postponing such a meeting on three other occasions. Senator Stabenow made the following statement in response to news of the call:
"This isn't about phone calls to friends, it's about President Bush sitting down with the heads of a crucial American industry and figuring out how to provide the support they need. President Bush insists on showing a lack of urgency as good paying American jobs are shipped overseas and our Michigan way of life continues to be threatened."
